Boathouse Kitchen Introduces Rinku Dutt | 5th November
Experience an evening that celebrates the flavours, stories, and traditions of Kolkata through an authentic, community-style dinner.
For one exclusive dinner, Boathouse 4 Kitchen hosts British-Bengali food writer and author, Rinku Dutt. Rinku will personally welcome guests, introducing her family-inspired menu, and serve a series of dishes that bring the warmth and heart of Kolkata to the table.
Rinku Dutt is a British-born Bengali championing Kolkata food. For Rinku and her family, the cooking of their traditional dishes was a way to make Britain feel like home. Rinku has written recipes for multiple recipe books including ‘LEON Happy Curries’ and published her own recipe book ‘Kolkata: Recipes from the heart of Bengal’.

Welcome drink
Sweet lime soda - a refreshing drink using fresh limes
Course 1
Puchka - all year round popular street food of semolina puffs filled with spiced
potatoes and shot of tamarind water
Course 2
Maacher chop/Beetroot Chop - white fish fillets cooked with whole spices and seasonal veg served with a tomato kasundi
Course 3
Ghee rice - basmati rice cooked with clarified butter
Moong daal with green beans - small yellow moong daal cooked with ginger and cumin
Bhadakophi bhaja - shredded cabbage and peas tempered with Bengali five spice
Doi begun - charred aubergine coated in a delicious thick yogurt
Malai curry - king prawns cooked in a creamy coconut gravy
Chicken Chaap - an intense chicken curry cooked with cardamoms and cinnamon
Luchchi - puffed flatbreads
Tomato and prune chutney - a tomato chutney spiced with paanch phoron
Bari Salad - cucumbers and red onions with a fresh lime and chilli dressing
Course 4
Aam kheer - Bengali rice pudding with sweet mangos (served individually)
